Encinitas one-year Pilot Program waiving permit fees for Solar!

The city of Encinitas has just begun a yearlong pilot program that waives or reduces permit fees for energy efficient projects that make homes more green:

Among the projects included: Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems, solar water heating systems, electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), clean natural gas (CNG) home refueling systems.

A permit for solar panels currently costs around $320  and after the one-year trial, city staff shall report to the city council who will decide if they will continue the program.
