• How Solar Power Works

Modern photovoltaic (PV) solar power systems aren’t “plug-and-play” yet but they’ve become remarkably simple, relying on reliable physics that turn sunshine into electricity!

    1. SOLAR PANELS: Solar panels are made up of photovoltaic (PV) cells, which convert sunlight into DC power.
    2. INVERTER: The DC power is sent to an inverter, which converts the electricity into usable AC power.
    3. ELECTRIC PANEL: The AC power travels from the inverter to the electrical panel, or breaker box. This energy is then available to power your lights, appliances, air conditioning, and all of your electrical needs.
    4. UTILITY GRID: The solar system is connected to the utility grid. Whenever your system makes more power than your house can use, you send the power back to the grid and spin your meter backwards for credit.
