U.S. Foodservice is the second largest foodservice distributor in the U.S., operating over 75 warehouse and distribution facilities in 36 states. The company distributes food and related products to over 250,000 customers, including restaurants, healthcare facilities, cafeterias, schools and colleges. Not surprisingly, energy costs represent one of the company’s largest single operating expenses so the firm turned to Stellar Solar to help reduce electricity costs at its facility that serves the greater Los Angeles area. The roof-mounted array will produce an estimated 1.6 million kWh per year or roughly 20% of its overall needs.
