What is San Diego Community Power?
SDCP is a not-for-profit public energy agency serving nearly 1 million customers in San Diego and its surrounding communities. Check your energy bill to see if you are already a customer!
What Incentives are Offered?
SDCP’s Solar Battery Savings Program provides customers with two options for saving thousands. Customers can receive up to $10,000 in up-front rebates for batteries, based on the size of their system. Additionally, they can sell energy from their battery with Grid Service otherwise known as a Virtual Power Plant (VPP). The goal of a VPP is to reduce stress on the electric grid when demand is at its highest. Participants will receive $0.10/kWh when they agree to discharge their battery to their home or the grid for at least 2 hours per day. Stellar estimates this will amount to $250 per year for each battery, given minimum participation.
