Zach Hood leads up the construction department at Stellar Solar and is responsible for all construction related activities within the residential side of the business. Many of our award-winning rooftop and ground mount solar installations have been due in part to his extensive construction experience and attention to detail. Prior to Stellar Solar, Zach was in the electrical field starting in new commercial and industrial electrical construction. At the end of his apprenticeship he was eager to utilize his skills to make an impact for the environment so he then began to invest his energy into the renewable’s space. In 2010 he moved into solar where he led the field install teams at the electrical company he started. In 2012 he moved to SD where he knew he would be able to flourish in the solar community. When Zac began in California he worked on commercial and utility scale solar projects. 

Outside of work you will usually find Zach, who is a licensed captain, aboard his 25 foot Parker boat fishing the waters off of San Diego and Mexico. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, the outdoors, frequents the beach and enjoys a good surf from time to time.
